About Me
I’m Mike Baxter, a landscape photographer born and raised on the Isle of Wight — an island that’s as rugged as it is peaceful, as wild as it is familiar. This place is in my blood. From childhood, I’ve explored its winding coastal paths, dense forests, chalk cliffs, and windswept beaches, always chasing the next horizon. Over the years, that curiosity turned into a camera in my hand — and a mission to capture the raw, untamed beauty of the island I call home.
For me, photography isn’t just about perfect light or composition — it’s about adventure. It’s scrambling up muddy trails before sunrise, waiting in the cold for a storm to break, or standing alone on a windswept headland with nothing but sea spray and silence. The Isle of Wight offers those moments in abundance, and I try to honor them in every shot I take.
This site is a visual journey through the landscapes that have shaped me — familiar places seen with fresh eyes, and hidden corners you might’ve passed without noticing. Whether you’re here to explore, reflect, or find inspiration, I hope these images stir something in you, just as the island always has for me.
Let’s chase the light together.
